Job Description

The overall objective of the Safety Intern is to promote a strong safety culture by providing safety and health expertise and ensuring that management systems are established and effectively used to maintain compliance. The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt in a fast paced, changing environment, possess strong organizational skills with the ability to build professional relationships with numerous inter-dependent teams of different disciplines.

Essential Responsibilities:
* Confined space inventory management including database development to provide real time data associated with the site inventory. Develop region definable criteria to promote consistent inventories.
* Stretch goal - Establish emergency response process and procedures with baseline equipment inventory
* Noise survey inventory management including database development to provide real-time data associated with site inventory. Develop site priority list with multiple risk mitigation plans developed for implementation.
* Work with the site to drive and facilitate a strong safety culture
* Manage and assist with the development and implementation of site specific safety procedures and programs as assigned
* Work with teams on hazard identification, evaluation, control and provide appropriate risk mitigation strategies
* Participate and lead portions of EHS self-assessment and/or audits
* Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs


Required Qualifications:
* Progress toward a degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety or Health or closely related degree or equivalent military experience required
* 0-2 years of relevant experience within a Manufacturing, Safety environment
* Construction safety experience or interest a plus
