Consumer and Investment Management (CIMD)
The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs). We provide asset management, wealth management and banking expertise to consumers and institutions around the world. CIMD partners with various teams across the firm to help individuals and institutions navigate changing markets and take control of their financial lives.

What We Do
The Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) group provides investors with investment and advisory solutions across leading hedge fund managers, private equity funds, public equity strategies, fixed income strategies, and real estate managers. The AIMS group manages globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and offers a range of advisory services. Our investors access opportunities through new fund commitments, fund-of-fund investments, strategic partnerships, secondary-market investments, co-investments, and seed-capital investments. With 300 professionals across 9 offices around the world, the AIMS group provides manager diligence, portfolio construction, risk management, and liquidity solutions to investors, drawing on Goldman Sachs market insights and risk management expertise. We extend these global capabilities to the world s leading sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, governments, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, and family offices, for which we invest or advise on over $220 billion of alternative investments.
Your Impact
Within AIMS, Strategists (also known as Strats ) develop analytical and quantitative methods for manager selection and portfolio design and construction. These analytics are made available to the broader AIMS team. As such, it is crucial for strats to develop tools that are accurate, robust, extendable, and allow scalable, widespread use.
Strat team members will assume responsibility for the developed analytics and are given ample opportunity to devise creative solutions driven by novel analytical methods. To navigate the daily interactions with other AIMS team members, clear and concise communication of the financial, business, and mathematical concepts under consideration is essential.
Basic Qualifications
* Masters or PhD level qualification in a quantitative discipline
* Strong mathematical and analytical skills
* Desire and ability to create innovative solutions to commercial challenges
* Programming expertise, ability to transform concepts and ideas into scalable and robust software
* Excellent communication skills
* A self-starter, should have ability to work independently as well as thrive in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
* Financial services experience
* Proficiency with the mathematical foundations of data science
