Town of Ithaca is looking to fill a full time highly responsible technical position involving the development, coordination and management of various information technology activities. This position works with all town departments to provide coordination of the computer network system and management of the various information technology activities including data communications networks, cybersecurity, electronic communications, website, social media and voice communication systems including mobile devices. The work is performed in consultation with department heads to serve as a technical consultant assisting in the identification of appropriate software and technology to meet their needs. This position is jointly supervisors by the Town Supervisor and Human Resources Manager. The work is performed under general supervision with considerable leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out work activities with the responsibility for technical results.
The Town of Ithaca is located at the southern tip of Cayuga Lake in central New York, and is the home of Ithaca College and Cornell University. The Town is a suburban area that surrounds the urban core of the City of Ithaca. The Ithaca area includes many beautiful natural areas such as Buttermilk Falls State Park, Treman State Park and Marina, Taughannock Falls State Park and Cayuga Lake.
