The Companies of J.J. Young is looking for qualified and skilled candidates for the Needs Assessment Project Coordinator position. Our client is a non-profit located in Albany that offers social services and support for our local diverse communities. The client is looking for candidates that work well with different types of people of all orientations. A personal mode of transportation is required to travel to events.

Position Overview:
The client is searching for a Needs Assessment Project Coordinator to support the Needs Assessment Project Manager in implementing and advancing the Needs Assessment program. The position requires the coordination of qualitative and quantitative research (focus groups, surveys, etc.), meetings between stakeholders, community outreach, and public-facing events. The ideal candidate has experience working with people of all orientations, is organized, has great communication skills, and has public speaking/community outreach skills.

Community Engagement Requirements:
• Conduct remote and on-site culturally-competent outreach to engage Black, Brown, and other racial and ethnic minority communities in participating in the statewide community needs assessment
• Build relationships by creating databases of community liaisons and contacts; work closely with New York State Services
• Build and maintain a calendar for needs assessment staff that includes meetings, focus groups, interviews, etc.
Data Collection Requirements:
• Participate and collaborate with staff to collect quantitative and qualitative data through focus groups, surveys (Qualtrics Experience is a plus), and other research techniques while ensuring quality data collection
• Coordinate and conduct research
• Creating data visualizations for reports
Other Requirements:
• Assistance with project activity documentation
• Supervise peers in data collection
• Attend conferences in support of presentations as assigned
Qualifications:
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with diverse communities
• Minimum 1 year of experience of human services experience, including outreach, education, or case management
• Associate’s degree preferred (Bachelor’s is a plus)
• Comfortable providing community outreach in public (bars, colleges, events, etc.)
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license with independent form of transportation
• Understanding of the and cultural competencies, and unique needs of all types of individuals
• Bilingual skills (Spanish, Haitian Creole) are highly desirable and preferred
• Strong networking, communication, and relationship building skills
