Job Description

 
Entry-level Service Technicians perform inspections and repairs of fire extinguishers. As needed, they will support field installation, inspections, and maintenance of other fire protection systems. They must be able to learn code reference material and work with the necessary equipment. Additional tasks require accurate and timely paperwork and maintaining a clean and organized work area. They may also help with scheduling for field inspections. Additional requirements include:
• Working off ladders
• Lifting or carrying heavy objects (over 50lbs)
• Work as required which may exceed a 40-hour workweek and possible weekend and evening work
• Some over-night travel
• The ability to develop an understanding of NFPA and applicable state fire codes
• The technician will need to obtain all required job certifications starting within three months of continuous employment.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Must have valid and clean NYS driver’s license
• Pass a background check and random drug testing
• Have a High School diploma or equivalent
• Be able to operate hand tools and maintain a safe work environment
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and written to other employees and clients
• Good Computer Skills

Pay depends on experience level and abilities.
