This position is based out of our stunning office in Suffolk County, LI. In addition to going above and beyond in making everyone feel welcome, our ideal candidate will be responsive, reliable, organized, have a "can-do" attitude, she/he/they will take the initiative without being asked. We are looking for another STAR who will fit in with the rest of the team. How You'll Help Us Be Successful: Perform, complete, troubleshoot, and maintain binding stitcher machine. Bind sheets of paper or signatures into complete saddle stitched and trimmed booklets by operating an automated bindery finishing machine. Loads pockets in proper order, makes necessary adjustments to stitcher, trimmer, and punch. Inspects finished work during production and makes modifications as needed. Reads and understands the job ticket, layout sheet, artwork, and other specifications before beginning the assigned job order. Reports to Bindery Manager on any concerns to ensure that both the technical and workflow issues are addressed. Able to troubleshoot and problem solve. Responsible for training and directing any bindery workers/helpers in executing tasks when they are assisting on the stitcher. Operates other bindery equipment when necessary to maintain the flexibility of the department. Adheres to and promotes all company safety policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned by Bindery Manager. What You'll Need To Be Successful: High School diploma or equivalent work experience Perform basic mathematical calculations Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions, order ticket, press imposition, and rule-up sheets Good communication skills, both written and verbal Experience with printing equipment maintenance and repairs High attention to detail and judgment based on written procedures and guidelines Ability to identify production problems and ability to identify quality problems Energetic, dependable and a reliable team player Ability to follow directions, safety standards and be on-call for emergency situations Willing to work overtime as required, occasionally on short notice Ability to tolerate being exposed to loud noises and moving machinery
